Goals and Intentions for the Holiday Season

Updated: Nov 29, 2020

15 Ways to Make the Best of December

  • Donate - Find a clothing drive, toy donation station, or reputable charity that helps families in need around the holidays!

  • Spread Kindness - Smile often, say hi to everyone, buy coffee for a stranger, hold doors, help others, and spread joy :)

  • Ice Skate

  • Make Cookies - gather a group of family members or friends and have a cookie baking day!

  • Healthy Living - The holidays can be hectic and filled with sugar. Remember to stay on track, get enough sleep, and provide your body with the proper food and exercise it needs! Don’t forget about your self-care routines either!!!

  • Create Goals for 2021 - Well, it’s no secret that 2020 was the absolute worst. So let’s forget about it, enjoy and embrace the holiday season, and start thinking about our goals and intentions for the new year. Get a head start on your health journey and start creating goals and changes for 2021. Some ideas include a savings plan, exercise goals, healthy living, dedicating time to family, friends, and fun.

  • Make time for family and friends

  • Be present - be present in every moment, put the cell phone down, engage in conversation, enjoy the fresh air, listen to the music, relax and be present for the holiday season

  • Be grateful - Create a list of everything you are grateful for! The visual list helps us see all we have and reminds us not to take anything for granted.

  • Be festive! Wear that red lipstick, rock Christmas sweaters, listen to holiday music, and embrace the holiday season!

  • Read a holiday book - there are many great books (both adult and children) with a Christmas storyline. These stories always depict the true meaning of Christmas and give all the heartwarming feels!

  • Go look at Christmas lights - this might be old school for some, but take a short trip in your car to view all the neighborhood Christmas lights! It’s a great way to get the family together! :)

  • Watch a Christmas movie with hot cocoa by the fire. I don’t have a fireplace so I light a pine tree scented candle, dim the lights and sip on my cocoa (or Egg Nog latte) to relax and enjoy the Christmas spirit!
